Tobie is a Jazz Guitarist & Composer based in London. After studying at Leeds College of Music and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Tobie has gone on to performed at Club Bonafide (New York), The B Flat (Berlin) & sold out shows at Royal Albert Hall, Jazz Cafe & Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (London) both as a band leader and alongside a number of award winning artists.

His debut album ‘Dead Pan Party’ with the Tobie Carpenter Organ Trio went to No.1 in the U.K. Jazz Chart. Media coverage has included extensive radio appearances in both the UK and USA and television appearances with Channel 4 and Sky. Tobie has been described as “a fantastic to watch” by Jazz FM and “evidence the UK Jazz scene is on fire” in a 5 star review from the Evening Standard.

As an educator, Tobie has lead hundreds of masterclasses and workshops in the UK and the US. He has run a weekly improvisation workshop since 2012 in London and has taught in a number of institutions including Cambridge University.
